Location: Queen Street, Burslem
Brief: Cold Developments were appointed to undertake the refurbishment of the historic Burslem School of Art on behalf of Stoke-on-Trent City Council and the City Learning Trust.
The scope of works included the creation of a new sensory room, installation of glazed screens to the atrium, and construction of partition walls to form a new reception area and first aid room. Externally, works involved the installation of new perimeter fencing, laying of artificial turf, and tarmacking to provide a dedicated break area for students.
The project, managed by Rob North, required close collaboration with Townsend and Renaudon LLP (Employer’s Agent and Architects), SoTCC, and CLT to ensure that the works were delivered to the highest standard while preserving the character of this unique and historic building.
